This unique multicultural collection of child art has been studied and used by scholars and professionals from many disciplines including art history, art education, elementary education, psychology, anthropology, and sociology. The collection is housed at Milner Library, Illinois State University, Normal, IL. The ICCA contains over 8,500 originals from over 50 countries and is continually increasing its holdings. The artwork is viewable on slides located in the Special Collections department of the Library. The originals are also archived at Milner Library. A computer database facilitates rapid access and selection of work by many descriptors such as age, gender, country, media, title or topic, and other demographic descriptors. Doctoral students from The Ohio State University, Indiana University, as well as Illinois State University have used the ICCA information and visuals for various studies. Authors have also selected examples from the collection to illustrate points in their texts, books, speeches or articles.
