The Department of Health and Human Services
developed this on-line grant information service to serve the general public,
grantee organizations, and government grant-making agencies. It provides
a free public-access computer network for finding and exchanging information
about HHS and other Federal grant programs.
- Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance
The Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance
is a directory of Federal programs, projects, service and activities which
provide assistance or benefits to the American Public. It contains financial
and non financial assistance programs administered by departments and establishments
of the Federal government. This source is also available in a paper formal
at the General Reference and Documents Desk on Floor 2 (Doc.Pres2.20:995).

Although the full text of most articles is not available without a password, this site includes summaries of top
news stories, deadlines, workshop and conference announcements, job announcements, and links to other Web resources. An extremely useful source of current information.

of Higher Education (Web site)
Also available at the Reference Desk on Floor 1. Each issue includes a section on New Grant Competitions.
- COS Funding News

This weekly publication includes a sampling of new and updated award information from the Community Of Science Funding Opportunities

- Center on Philanthropy at Indiana University
The Center of Philanthropy collections and disseminates information about philanthropy. The Center "increases
"the understanding of philanthropy and improves its practice through programs in research, teaching, public service, and public affairs."
- Community of Science
Designed to provide rapid, easy-to-use information about scientists and the funding of science. Serves as a global
registry to information about what new funding opportunities exist, who is working on what subject, and where. COS Funding News features a database including government and private sources.
- Council on Foundations
COF is a nonprofit membership organization. Although there is a charge for some of the services noted on their Web
site, there is also valuable free information.
Of particular interest may be the Community
Foundation Locator which will allow the user to search for foundations by geographic region.
- The Foundation Center
The Center's mission is "to foster public understanding of the foundation field by collecting, organizing, analyzing,
and disseminating information on foundations, corporate giving, and related subjects." The intended audiences includes grantseekers, grantmakers, researchers, policymakers, the media, and the general public.
- SRA International Grants Web
Use to locate funding available from local, state, federal and international government sources.
- Guidestar
Guidestar provides information about over 850,000 IRS-recognized nonprofit organizations. Of particular interest
will be their verification of tax-exempt status using IRS Publication 78 and individual public charities' 990 Forms.
- National Council of University Research Administrators (NCURA): Resources
The National Council of University Research Administrators "serves its members and advances the field of research administration
through professional development, the sharing of knowledge, and by fostering a sense of community." The Resources sections includes University Resources Departmental and Sponsored Research Offices and Research Funding Agencies and Research Administration Organizations.
- Research Funding Opportunities and Administration (TRAM)
Initially developed by the Texas Research Administrators Group, contains a search engine for locating funding opportunities
from many different agencies. Funding information updated daily. Also contains a set of grant application forms collected from various sources, as well as standard agreements for subcontracts, non-disclosures, licenses, and links to other servers related to research funding and administration.
- TGCI; The Grantsmanship Center
Offers grantsmanship training and low-cost publications to nonprofit organizations and government agencies.
TGCI maintains an archive of the Federal Register announcements. These announcements are filed by the day of their publication. Many articles are available free in The Grantsmanship Center Magazine.
