Introduction

This is a guide to printed resources available to MBA students in Milner Library. It is an electronic version of the General Sources section of the MBA Library Handbook. Copies of the printed handbook are available at the Reference Desk on Floor 4 of Milner Library and from the MBA Office at Illinois State University. The print version of the handbook also includes information about library departments and services and a topical bibliography of printed business resources available in Milner Library.

The following guide is intended as a selective listing of basic and representative business resources. Listings include the title of the publication, author(s), and call number within Milner Library (including floor location if necessary). When it is not evident from the title, a brief statement indicates the content and arrangement of the material.


Handbooks and Guides

Handbooks and guides provide concise coverage of concepts and techniques. They are organized for easy access, either to introduce a topic or provide a review for practitioners. Among the many useful handbooks and guides are:

Bibliographies

Bibliographies are lists of books, journals, articles, reports, and other publications. Some bibliographies are general, covering many subjects and types of publications, while others cover specific subjects or are limited to just one type of publication (books only or journal articles only). A bibliography may be arranged by subject, or by date of publication, or alphabetically by the title or author's name. Periodical indexes and abstracts are bibliographies that are updated regularly and only list periodical articles; they are listed separately at the Periodical Indexes page.
