Use this format- term - definition ex. barge - a roomy boat, usually flat-bottomed, used chiefly on rivers and canals Use any source available to you to find the definitions for the terms you include. |

| 1. | Make a shoebox diorama of the houseboat where Patsy and her family lived. |
| Chapter 5 |
| 1. | Patsy loves living on the houseboat but she still wonders if living in a permanent home on land would be better than houseboat living. Which would you choose? Give several reasons for your choice.

| 1. | Patsy and her father discussed the merits of houseboat living and town living. Make two columns on your paper- Patsy's arguments for living in a town and her father's arguments against living in a town. List reasons for each of the arguments given in the book. Add some reasons of your own.

| 1. | Read back through the diary you began in Chapter 1. Add pictures, illustrations to any of the entries.

| Chapter 10 |
| 1. | Who bought new shoes for Patsy after she swept hers into the river? Why do you think he bought the shoes for Patsy? |
| 2. | Name some things Patsy's father use for fish bait.

| Chapter 11 |
| 1. | Describe the exchange of food items with Captain Leonard from the towboat. What did the Fosters give? What did the Captain give? |
| 2. | Draw a picture of the houseboat as a landbased home. Write your final diary entry of Patsy's thoughts and feelings about living in one place.
