- Institute for Women and Technology - Seeks to catalyze research and development initiatives throughout industry, academia, government and the non-profit sector that fully engage women in all phases of their work.
- Internet Encyclopedia of Technology and Culture - A work in progress developed by students of Embry Riddle Aeronautical University, covers an eclectic assortment of technology topics and includes references for most entries.
- Marshal Brain's How Stuff Works - Find out how everything works, from hybrid electric cars to the human body. Search by keywords, or use the subject directory. Named by Time magazine as one of the “50 Best Web sites” for 2002.
- Monthly Energy Review - Statistics from the U.S. Department of Energy on many aspects of energy production and use. Query the MER database on energy production, consumption, and imports, by source (e.g., petroleum, coal, nuclear), or consumption by sector (e.g., commercial, residential).
- NASA Technical Reports Server - Search for technical reports on a wide range of topics. Sponsored by the NASA Scientific and Technical Information Program Office

- Patents Database - Search for issued patents or patent applications by topic (for example, fuel cells or corkscrews), inventor name, or a variety of other options. Retrieve full text describing patented devices or processes. Images may be viewed with a browser plug-in available for download from the site. A free service of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.

- Buildings Technology Center (BTC) - The Buildings Technology Center at Oak Ridge National Laboratory promotes sustainable and energy efficient building system technologies by forming partnerships between the public sector and private industry. - International Code Council - A nonprofit organization dedicated to developing a single set of comprehensive and coordinated national model construction codes. Site includes construction news, standards, and certifications.
- Lighting Research Center, School of Architecture, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute - A leading university based research center devoted to lighting technologies, applications, and products.
- National Fire Protection Association Codes & Standards - NFPA develops, publishes, and disseminates more than 300 consensus codes and standards intended to minimize the possibility and effects of fire and other risks. Virtually every building, process, service, design, and installation in society today is affected by NFPA documents.

- Print: the Original Information Technology - This PIA/GATF campaign to promote print media establishes print as an important component of the IT sector of the U.S. economy.
- TAGA Abstracts - Search the database of abstracts maintained by the Technical Association of the Graphic Arts. Provides titles, authors, and abstracts, but no source (journal, volume, page numbers) information is provided. Despite this admittedly major drawback, the TAGA Abstracts database is potentially useful given that many of the items in the TAGA database may not be indexed in databases available to Milner patrons. Searching is free, but full text of items may be purchased from TAGA.
