If you access PubMed from the list of Milner's databases the find it icon will appear with your refences allowing you to directly search the holdings of Milner library for sources.     A nursing and allied health database which indexes a large number of nutrition journals. Use the CINAHL thesaurus for indexing terms.

    Indexes academic and general interest periodicals. Many articles are available in full text.

    This database indexes some of the major journals in food science.
  • Biological and Agricultural Index
    Indexes many nutrition/food science journals.
  • Cochrane Library Database
    Provides full text sources, unique to Cochrane, that disseminates research findings of, and to, a wide international community. Although medical in nature, some sources relate to nutrition and dietetics.

    A general index covering many subject areas.
  • ERIC
    An education database that includes references to literature on nutrition education and other aspects of consumer information.
  • GPO Monthly Catalog
    The database for US government publications. The government publishes many documents on nutrition and food science.
  • Health Source Nursing/Academic Edition
    This health science database indexes some nutrition literature. Many articles are available in full text.
  • HealthSource Consumer Edition
    This consumer health and wellness database provides references to nutrition articles from magazines, journals, and pamphlets. Many full text sources are available.
  • Hearth Database
    This database comes from Cornell University and can be access by getting on http://hearth.library.cornell.edu/ and selecting the Search option found on the left of your screen. It indexes books and journal articles published between 1850 and 1950. Many sources are available in full text. Several essays are also included.
  • PsycINFO
    A psychology database which surprisingly indexes literature on selected topics related to nutrition. Use the thesaurus for indexing terms.
  • USDA National Nutrient Database for Standard Reference
    Available on the Internet via www.nal.usda.gov/fnic/foodcomp/search. Use for food policy research and nutrition monitoring.

Major Journals, Magazines & Newsletters

Current journals are located on the main floor of Milner Library. Earlier volumes are found on the floors corresponding to the call number of the journal. For instance, journals with call mumbers beginning with Q, R or T can be found on floor five; those starting with H are on floor four. Volumes older than 2000 are stored in the basement of the library and can be requested at the reference desk on the main floor. Please note that the following does not list all the journals and magazines that might be relevant to your topic.
