TPS Levels: Goals and Objectives

Professional development activities under Teaching with Primary Sources progress along three program levels. Teachers have the option of taking courses on-line or during a four day face-to-face workshop.

Library of Congress Teaching with Primary Sources Ambassador Fellowship

The Ambassador Fellowship develops a network of national ambassadors who travel to Washington, D.C. for one week to network and conduct research for their self-designed primary source related projects to be implemented in their home districts. The Library of Congress funds a limited number of National TPS Ambassadors participants each summer. To achieve the ambassador designation, teachers must complete Levels 1 and 2 of the TPS program, as well as a Level 3 local ambassador training workshop. Additionally, they must participate in field testing lessons, complete local ambassador training and be active in two of five program dissemination categories that include: mentoring, presentations, development, research or publication.Learn More...
