Level 3 -TPS-ISU Ambassador Program
Goal:
Develop a network of experienced teachers who advocate the use of primary sources and widely disseminate the ideas, methods, and products of the Teaching with Primary Sources program.
Objectives:
Mentor colleagues on the best insturctional uses of primary sources.
- Mentor pre-service, in-service or other professionals who are interested in integrating primary sources in to their curriculum.
Evaluate learning experiences for widespread dissemination and use.
- Field-test LOC TPS learning experiences using on-line evaluation tool to help identify exemplary lessons
Interact and collaborate with fellow Library of Congress Ambassadors
- Collaborate with other fellow TPS-ISU Ambassordors to create standards-bassed lesson plans and dissemination of Library of Congress resources
Contribute to local, state and national use of best practices for using primary sources in instruction by publishing in print or in online journals, speaking at gatherings of educators and/or leading professional develpment activities.
- Develop and present Library of Congress Teaching with Primary Sources information at the school, district and state level.
- Use a Train-the-Trainer Model to conduct a school or district workshop.
